It is August and the world famous Edinburgh Festival is at its height when the body of a brutally murdered young girl is discovered behind a hotel in the Capital. Hours later, the body of  what seems to be a suicide victim is discovered, this time inside the same hotel. Kingdom is called in to investigate.

At the same time, Sara, Kingdom’s partner, finds herself the target of a group who demands that she abandons the imminent 3-Day-Trial she is organising with threats of dire consequences if she fails to comply.

What follows is a deadly game of cat and mouse.
